THE CRASH

It doesn't matter what you do or how much protection you think you have, at some time during your life, your computer will crash due to viruses. In our case, we are on crash number 4 or 5. I have learned to do periodic back ups in order to avoid an emotional breakdown as I realized we had lost picutres or documents. This time I knew the crash was coming and had already run my backups. Then, the other day, I realized I had no back up of our Microsoft Money file. My entire checkbook/bank account information is there along with the accessibility to reports that make doing taxes 10 times faster. My stomach dropped as I made this realization and I am not looking forward to tax season if I cannot restore these files once we get our computer fixed (if we can). Thank you to my neighbor who loaned me her old computer tower, which also has a virus, but at least still boots and allows me to get on the internet and check my various accounts. Lesson: RUN BACK UPS WEEKLY AND SAVE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I am a FIRM believer in back ups, which reminds me it is time to do mine again. I hope you get things going again. My advice as a true computer geek...get a mac. Amy will back me up on that I think!

  2. So funny...I was going to say "get a Mac" but on my way to the comment window thought it might be a little pushy. Thanks for taking the heat, Jen. :)

    I love my Mac.
