I was sifting through pictures the other day and happened onto this one. When Kylee was about 2 years old, she broke her leg. She was going down the stairs backwards at her Grandma's house. She got to the last step and stood up and twisted to step off and somehow broke her leg. It was a hairline fracture across her shin. There was no swelling, no indication of a break. She just wouldn't stand or walk on that leg and was crying saying, "owwwyyyeee." I didn't think she could have possibly broke it, but a trip to the urgent care and 2 X-rays later revealed that it was indeed broken. Luckily, since the break was so little, the Dr. ended up just forming a removeable splint that we put around her leg and wrapped. That way we could take it off for bathing purposes. She was a little trooper for being so young and having to heal with having a cast on her leg for 8 weeks. I am hoping this will be the only broken bone our family has.....we shall see.
Knock on wood, we haven't had any broken bones yet. 16.5 years! Woo Hoo!
